Under the name Coloring Austin, Avery Price captures the spirit of her hometown through watercolor. Each piece invites the viewer to step into the scene, sparking memories of their own experiences and celebrating the places that make Austin vibrant. Avery’s work lifts up the city she loves by honoring its iconic spaces, beloved businesses, and unique culture.
The Artist
A watercolor artist born and raised in Austin, Avery lives here with her husband, Anthony, and their two daughters, Tate and Blake. She has been painting and creating her entire life, continuing her studies in college before branching out to pursue her own practice. Drawn to watercolor for its unpredictability and luminous quality, Avery developed a style that blends playful looseness with thoughtful detail.
Community
Her work celebrates community, not only through the businesses she paints, but also through the stories viewers share when they see her pieces. With every painting, Avery’s goal is to highlight the everyday beauty of Austin while creating lasting connections between people, place, and memory.
